So far we have had 7 days of full pads practice this Spring. It's been sick playing my new position of D-Line mainly because I just enjoy hitting people and this gives me plenty of oportunities. I'm still learning and trying to get better at what I'm supposed to do.
The only thing that has really sucked about Spring so far is obviouslly the pain and bruises that comes along with hitting. But it has also been extremely hot. I don't know if there has been a single day under 95 degrees. Which when you are in full pads with your helmit retaining all that heat you almost instantly start sweating bullets.
But we have off tomorrow and I will definately enjoy the break. Taking some time to relax and let my body heal up. And then we have a scrimmage on Thursday which tends to be a little easier on your body. So I'm looking forward to these next 2 weeks but mostly I just want to get out of school.

The Things They Carried
This just happens to be one of the most interesting books I have ever read. Not because it is happy or tells some great and amazing story. No, but what it does do is tell storys that make you feel certain ways. Not always good feelings but ultimately I have never read a book that has played with the way I feel so much.
Tim O'Brian believes that it doesn't matter how true a story is but weather or not the message or affect of the storry still remains true. He mentions this many times in his book. Telling stories about a real event as if he saw them happen or one of his buddies partook in it. But then will say that might have never happened. Referring to soldiers storys as never fully true. And also a true war story will never make you happy. Or have a good moral at the end. In fact, he says if it makes you feel that way then it never really happened in that war. His outlook on soldiers is very interesting. And because he did actually serve he has every right to these opinions. He honostly believes that heroism doesn't really exist and instead a soldier just does things out of reflex or adrenaline that we would say is heroic and yet he just did it because he was scared basicly. I'm not sure if that is the whole picture but it definately is an interesting way of looking at it.

Prom
This Friday I will be going to my girlfriends prom. And it is kind of a big deal for her. But I have never really got that. The idea of prom is to get together, dance and make a fool of yourself; hopefully all at the same time. While I'm sure I will exceed in this, I question why I am doing it. Yes, there is the whole I'm doing it for her factor. But there has to be something else. After all, I can have a great time with just her and I sitting on the coach watchin her favorite shows (which I hate). So why get dressed up and make a whole big deal about seeing your friends? Maybe we just like to make one day more special than the rest. But I ask why not make every day special?
TIred
Right now I'm more tired than I probably have ever been and it is only 9 oclock. This is weird because all I have been doing is playing football and I have been doing that for years now. On top of this I have been trying extra hard to prevent this tired state by drinking a lot of water and eating healthy. So far it doesn't seam to be working. But it does make me feal better during practice and that's always nice.
If you have any method other than energy drinks or drugs to keep you awake I would love to hear about it. But if you don't that is fine too. I understand. Or at this point I think it is more I don't care.

Government
President Obama is a smart man. Most likely smarter then I will ever be and I respect him for his intelligence and what looks like to be his desire of helping the American people. But he is a socialist. Nothing is wrong with that. In fact in a perfect world it would be the ideal economy. Getting rid of most of the economic problems we have and instead being supported by the government. But this goes against everything America has been about for the last 200 years. Being a free enterprise economy has giving us the desire through greed to do something good with what we have. Pushing people to make bigger better things. And through this has put America as one of the most powerful nations in the world. And who knows maybe it is about time that we had a change. Maybe as a nation we can come together and change our ways becoming one social economy. I personally don't see that happening when I look at my generation though.
One more step that Obama is making towards socialism that I recently heard about is that he is having the government buy the majority of stocks of business such as GMC. Businesses that are failing and going bank rupt. So not only his he taking our tax money and buying car delerships. But he is buying FAILING car dealerships. Ones that are sinking down the tubes and would be considered a financial suicide for any investor. I don't know exactly what Obama hopes to do with this. But for me personally I don't think it makes much sense. But then again he is a very smart man.

Swine Flu
First of all I would like to start off with exactly what is "Swine Flu"? Apperantly it is very similar to Influenza. The symptons being chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headaches, coughing, weakness, general discomfort, (and a slow painful death). My sources didn't say the last part but I'm pretty sure it's implied in the news. I mean almost every case I have heard about this everybody is dying. And I'm sure it was probably slow and painful. So why not stretch it a bit?
Now the question is should we be worried? As a people should we start flippin out. Buying gas masks, vaccienes, and pretty much eradicatin Mexico from the face of the earth. Now do what you must to feel all safe inside. And for sure if you feel sick you should get checked out by a doctor before going to work or school to prevent spreading the flu. But seriously around half of the people you know have already been exposed to the swine flu somehow. And their body has either completely faught it off and become resistent or they got a little sick and became resistent. So my personal advice is to be smart; keepin your hands clean and gettin yourself checked out if you don't feel good. I mean it's pretty much just common sense.

The Great Gatsby
I just finished the Great Gatsby as a reading assignment for English. It was a pretty good book written by Fitzgerals about love and termoil during the 1920s. The narrator named Nick who is my favorite character. Is introduced into the life of an incrediably rich man named Jay Gatsby. They become friends but Nick starts hearing conflicting stories about Gatsby's shrouded past.
Basically Gatsby has been in love with Nick's cousin (Daisy) and has spent the last few years after the war to reunite their teenage love. But the main problem is that Daisy has moved on and married a wealthy man by the name of Tom. So while Gatsby is trying to take back Daisy, Tom has been having an affair with Mrs. Wilson the whole while. And he is not even trying that hard to hide it. But anyway I don't want to ruin the ending for you but I do recomend the book if you are ever looking for a quick read.

LiftaThon
This week has been the Liftathon fundraiser for the Cypress Bay football team. And just like every time we have had a fundraiser in the past. I slacked off and didn't go out the very first day and ask for donations. But I did somehow pull off the 125 dollars required and then some. Which is good because coach tends to be creative with his punishments.
How the fundraiser works is you either get people to pledge a certain amount per pound you lift or they can donate a flat rate. Most people tend to do the flat rate because most people like to know how much they will be giving before hand. But how the lifts work is one day you do bench then you do power cleans and you finish off with squats. At least that is the order I got. So I have already done my bench and power clean. My bench really pissed me off at only 215 pounds mostly due to my leg crampin up after my second lift. But my power clean was pretty decent at 230 pounds. So I guess you win some and lose some. But anyway I will always enjoy lifting weights and hopefully I can get my bench up by the time the season rolls along.

school
Last semester I didn't do so good as far as school is concerned. Everything was great to the point that I started lettin my grades slip. But that doesn't really matter any more because I decided I wasn't going to let that happen again.
So this semester I have done a lot better. Getting an A in ever class except for Spanish. Because it's fricken rediculous and impossible for a gringo to get an A in. But that's ok I've accepted my failure in another language and don't really plan on persueing it very much after Highschool. I would much rather look into someting else. Like chinese or something interesting like that. I think using all the same letters as english has made me extremely bored of it really fast. So maybe a new set of letters and sounds would do me good.

camping
This weekend I took a trip to Arcadia in around central FL. I went with a youth group that was going cannoing in Peace River. I left on Friday around 7 in the morning and then didn't get back untill Sunday around 2. My favorite part of the trip was when we found a group of people that were swinging from a tree into the river. So we stopped for a while and tried it out. It was sick! The rope went all the way up around 20 feet up the bank and then when you swung and reached the highest point of the arc you are around 15-20 feet above the water. At which point you could eather drop or do a flip of some sort. It being my first time I did not try a flip but none the less had an amazing time. Untill my girlfriend went. And for some reason when she got to the top of the arc her swimsuit came up flashing the entire beach of around 60 rednecks. But whatever I guess I'm fine with an open relationship.

The Economy
It seams to me like the numbers get bigger every day of the unemployed in America. Now this leads me to ask...what did we do wrong? And there are probably a million different answers to that question but I would like to touch a little bit on my own. For one and I believe the most major reason is that we as a people got lazy. And this isn't exactly the first time this has happened in history in fact it has happened at least once in the last century. So why can't we just learn from our mistakes? The truth is most people don't know about the mistakes we've made in the past. That is why it so important to learn from the past. It prepares us just that much better for the future. Now this recesion thing might have been inevidable I don't really know. But I know there are things we could have done to make it less affective against us. We should have worked harder and imported less. That is the bottom line. It goes back to our laziness as a people. So I think the best way to get out of the problem we created is not to give people who aren't working more money to get by. But instead reward the hard workers in America and give those who don't have work more opportunitys to do manual labor so they too can be rewarded. Now I could be wrong but that is my personal oppinion.

Football
Football is starting up again. We just got our forms today. I'm really lookin forward to this year commin up because I'll be a senior and should get to play a lot. Unless, of course, I get injured which would suck. But anyway now I just have to find a way to pay for it. It is gunna cost $225 for the summer camp alone. This is a really good price comparitivly but still it's a lot of money for me. I also have to take the SATs and ACTs so I can get into college. Either way I should be pretty busy for the next few days. But at the same time Spring break is commin ever closer. Too bad I have to do a research paper over it. This is mainly due to my procrastinating. But back to football, I'm gettin stronger and faster in preparation for the year to come. Hopefully I'll be able to lean out more and get down to a 4-7 on the 40. It should be a pretty decent year!

Stocks
Right now I am doing a "project" in American History right now where we have to watch the stock market. It's pretty interesting right now I'm following some airlines. I have 1667 imaginary shares in one and around 500 in the other. One goes at 15 dollars per share and the other close to 50.
So far they just keep going up every day. So if I had really put 50,000 dollars into those 2 coprporations I would have made 3,000 dollars in one day. Now this is not impossible to do in real life too! In fact, it happens every day. So when I get a job I do plan on investing a good chunk of that money into stocks to have my hard worked money work for me. Now this is not for everybody but I recomend you at least check it out.

Frozen pops
Most likely the greatest thing (after Gobstoppers) that has come into my life are the frozen pops that comes in a million different colors. I am in fact eating one at this very moment. It clears my mind and opens a whole new world of explosive flavor (every time). And I always forget which color goes with which taste so it keeps me guessing of what I will be biting in to=D. I can never remember what fruit red is I don't know why.
Throughout the course of life including the time where I grew up in Israel. They have always had a version of the frozen sticks from heaven. Yes some are better than others obviouslly but they still fail to dissapoint. Now if you haven't had one (or so many you've lost count) of these then I highly suggest that you go to the store right now and buy them. This is not because I secretly work for the company and want them to do well. But purely by the desire to spread the joy that is Frozen=D.

This is bull
I stayed home from school today mainly because it was FCATs and I really did not feel like sitting around again all day in a class room was worth it. I also was beggining to feel slightly sick. I figured this was just mostly my mind. Anyway, my dad called in for me saying I was sick. This was taboo. As the day progressed I was feeling worse and worse to the point where now I am sick as a dog. And on top of this I am going to school tomorrow. Which means now I have to take a 3 hour test with a head ache, coff, and a running nose. Needless to say I'm so looking forward to it! So now I am going to try to get some sleep and hopefully I will feel better in the morning.

The Yellow Wallpaper
I just read this book because it was an assignment from English class. I must say it kind of creeped me out. For those of you who haven't read it it is basically about a girl that goes crazy by being confined to a room with yellow wall paper.
What happens is a women who has some physical illness which her husband, who is a doctor, associates with nervousness. So he confines her to a room on the second floor out in the country to help calm her nerves. But in the hopes of curing her the utter act of confining her makes her so much more worse. To the point of in the end she completely looses it believing that she is apart of the wallpaper that she sees as her confinement.

Music
You could say I have very eccentric taste in music. That's probably because I do. My entire life I have never been able to really answer the question of what my favorite kind of music is. This is most likely due to it is constantly changing. I have never liked a certain song or group for more than a week. And if I have I'm sorry for lying.
This gets even worse because I don't even have a particular genre that I find myself in love with more than the rest. I listen to everything from classical to heavy metal. And of course everything in between. One day I might like Bach and the next day I'll only listen to Disturbed.
I actually don't mind this though. It allows me to never really get bored with music because it's constantly changing in my life. And plus it gives me a topic to write about so I can get my weekly blogs done!=D And it's not that I don't enjoy blogging. I just don't usually have something within my minds grasp to write about. At least not when I sit down at my computer to write about. And chances are you are probably the same way.
But if you are reading this then I guess you could respond by telling me your favorite kind of music or songs so that I can look them up and see if I like them to. Or you can give me ideas of what to write about in the future. Or don't respond at all and look for a better blog to respond to. It's totally up to you=D

Gobstoppers
Yeah it was commin eventually=p. And even though I was eventually planning on bringing up the wonderfull lil beads of joy and happiness. I now have another reason to which is still relatively fresh in my mind.
Today in English class it was dead silent. Everyone was supposed to be working on their journals with a partner. And then it happened! Some poor soul had the audacity to spill an entire box of happiness. Yes, it was rather entertaining to see all the lil beeds scatter as if from a fat kid. But at the same time it was a shame to see all that sweetness bounce across a floor that only a pig would eat off of.
This being said it was something to remember next time I purchased a box (or borrowed a few from the local dealer....Nico). Gobstoppers no matter how delicious are also very fragile. In an instance of carelessness they can go from something so worthy of our love to not even being edible: (. Yes, this is all very sad but one of the greatest things about gobstoppers is that there always seams to be 1 more to replace its sadly missed comrad.

Guitar
If you read my last blog you would have known that I am having a hard time thinking of what to write. It was so bad in fact that I had to resort to asking my little brother his oppinion of what I should write about. Yes, I was honestly considering writing about nothing once again but I highly doubt Mrs. S would apreciate that=p
So after enquiring my little brother of what I should write about he mentioned I could write about the guitar and more importantly how it reduces stress in my life. And sinse I have nothing better that comes to mind, guitar it is.
As a young adult a lot of things are thrown at you as the people around you expect you to grow up. Whether this is right or wrong it doesn't really matter. But the added pressure does help you grow up a little faster which can help you later on in life.
That is where guitar comes in for me. Whenever I am stressed or exhausted if I just pick up my guitar and play whatever matches my mood then it instantly begins to soothe me. This has really helped me over the years because I can be a very angry person when the stress builds up. So I guess I have guitar to thank for keeping me in a decent mood. And sinse I had nothing better to talk about that is why I am telling you.

Writers Block
This is a current event for me in the way that it is happening right now. I came on the computer with all good intentions of writing my bloggs and getting the work over with. Then it hits me....I suddenly become blank! I cannot think of anything to write about. So, of course, I write about writing about nothing.
Rarely do I find myself like this. I almost always have something to say because I can be really oppinionated. So now that I find myself in this delema I am rather unsure of what to do. Should I ask you if you have ever had writers block? Or should i just run on and on about the random synapses in my head.
Either way I guess I will eventually ask you if this ever happens to you just for the sake of conversation...but at the same time I don't really care. I guess the main point of me writing this is to get a decent grade so I can pass english so I can move on to bigger and better things. So comment if you like but by all means don't feel obligated.

School
The school board is thinking about changing our schedule to the rotator schedule! I personally hate this system. It would change us from having 8 classes 4 in each semester to having 7 classes and rotating one out each day! This would make it impossible to graduate early and instead of let's say getting both of your Languages done in 1 year it would now take 2. You would also have to start highschool already completing Alg. 1 in order to just get into Calculus by the end of your 4 years. Which would then hurt people who, for example, need more math cradits before they get into college to persue whatever major they are interested in. You also would have more homework sinse you would then have 6 classes daily instead of 4 and be recieving homework from every class. I personally don't need any more homework but hell maybe you enjoy it and I guess that's your right. I think this new schedule is BS....what do you think?
Homework
Last semester I did very little homework. This was mainly due to my laziness and procrastinating nature. This being said I was giving a lot of homework and because I decided not to do it I also had a few zeros that did not really help my grades.
This semester I decided to change that! I have done every homework assignment I have been given. With the exception of 1 which I did make up. So now I come home after lifting weights in football and immediately get to working on my homework along with some random house work to keep my step mom happy. So I have been doing more work than I ever have around the house and as far as school is concerned.
Now I don't ask much but I expect that if I get everything done that I am supposed to. And then quite a bit done that is just out of my own free will in the hopes of keeping the peace around my house. I feel like I should be at least left alone by my dad and step mom. But they do not see things the same way I do. For some reason they feel that for doing more work than I have been told they all the sudden feel the need to put more restrictions on my life. Which for anybody that knows me knows that that is just a stupid thing to do. It does nothing except piss me off. But anyway that is exactly what my parents have done and I'm not too happy about it but still I plan on showing them just how stupid it is.

Phone Bill
So this is something that happened to me and it really sucked so I figured I'd put it on here. The other night my dad came storming down the stairs yelling at my little brother and I about how we had cost him over 900 dollars in phone bills. Of course my reaction was WTF! Because he had told us in the past that we had unlimited talking locally and texting. I obviouslly took advantage of this freedom. But he had made a stupid friggen mistake and because of it he wound up paying a lot of money for something he would rather not have. The worste part is though that he tried to blame me for it. Informing me that I had misused my rights on the phone and that it was all my fault that he had to pay. Now I feel like it's his own stupid fault and I should not be blamed for his stupidity. What do you think?

Obama plans on providing new tax cuts for working familys in an attempt to restore fairness to the tax code and provide 95% of working Americans the tax relief they need. They plan on creating a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to 500 dollars per person and 1,000 dollars for every working family.
They also plan on elimenating all capital gain taxes on new and small business in an atempt to encourage innovation and job creation. If they do so do you believe that many Americans would take that opportunity and start new business in our current economy? And if they do what new jobs do you think they could create?
In semmation they plan to fight for a trade policy that opens up foreign markets to support good american jobs. They will attempt to use trade agreements to spread good labor and environmental standards around the world. This all sounds good and all but will it work? I don't know I guess only time will tell.

My drugs=D
As you probably already know from my last blog I injured myself recently and due to that injury not taking pain killers and something to help the swelling. This blog's purpose is to tell you how those drugs make me feel.
My lip tends to hurt a lot right now but when i take my pain killers I don't hardly feel it anymore. This is very nice for me because I don't personally enjoy pain that much at the moment at least not constant pain that keeps eating away at you and for some reason won't stop. But anyway that is not all that this drug does to me. It makes me feel and think crazy awesome things! It's weird and totally awesome at the same time.

My life
Well as many of you have already figured out by now I busted my lip up pretty bad so in the hopes that people will not keep asking me exactly what happened again and again I will write about it.
On Monday my brothers and I went to go play some football at the field just down the street from where we live in the Ridges. But when we got there we saw some kids playing basketball and decided to join in on that. Soon after everybody got tired of that so the kids seeing our football asked if we would like to play. So we made teams and started playing meanwhile I thought this whole time that we would play 2 hand tap you know to minimize injuries. I was wrong.... Of course, I don't mind playing tackle football hell I think it's fricken amazing which is why I play at Cypress Bay. The only problem was we weren't wearing pads and I had to try to restrain myself because some smaller kids were playing with us.
I can't honestly tell you what happened next thanks to the concussion but what I am told is I came down on this kid while he was jerking his head up and I hit my lip on his head. I split my lip open tearing through muscle and tissue and bled a lot on the trip to the hospital that I do not remember. Next thing I remember I was laying down with 2 chicks staring down at me with sickening expressions....I'm not that used to this kinda behavior when it comes to women so this was very odd to me. So I asked what was wrong and then I noticed my blood encrusted arm. So the nurse stitched me up with 18 of the buggas. 8 just putting the muscle back together and another 10 to keep the lip together. My whole lip was numb though for the majority of the surgery so I felt very little pain.
That night I went home had tacos and slept until 1 in the morning at which time I had to take my drugs. After taking them I went back to sleep and just kept sleeping for most of Tuesday. So that is one of the most current events in my life and I hope it cleared things up for you.

Criminal Aliens
Homeland Security Secratary Janet Napolitano stated that if you are a criminal and your are not entitled to be in the U.S. then she wants you out of the country. She wants to take all of what she calls "Criminal Aliens" off the streets so that you can get "the most bang for your buck". When reporters talked to her she said "That sounds very simple, but it's historiclly not been done." I just happen to disagree
When the New World was being colonized Queen Elizabeth did something that I believe made a big difference in Europe and in our new forming country. She decided that they had too many criminals on the streets and too many outcasts that were not benefiting in her society. So she did what Napolitano says has never been done before. She took all the criminals and outcasts and she shipped them over to a New World where they could start new lives for themselves and learn how to work for what they needed and wanted in life.
I'm not trying to say that she is wrong for what she is trying to do. All I am saying is that I believe something to the manner of what she is trying to achieve has already been done before and very successfully at that. Now why can't we just ship all of our criminals to some unused land where they can fend for themselves? Is it inhumane? Well I'm not going to pretend that I know exactly what we should do and I'm not 100% that it would be the best thing to do. But I honestly think that if we were to clean our streets up of all the people that are only hurting our society as a whole and ship them to let's say....Canada I believe our country would benefit greatly.

Barack Obama
As you most likely already know Barack Obama has been elected into office as our 44th president. I personally believe that he is a decent man. That does not mean, on the other hand, that I agree with everything he has done or will do. Then again I have almost never agreed with any one person 100% and I never want to. I think it is better to develop your own opinion on things based on your life and not let others tell you how to think.
I did think though that I might put some random facts on here about Obama to better inform you about our presidant. I also want to say that I am not trying to change your mind about him in anyway because I don't really care too. All I want is to inform you about the man that has one of the largest says in your life other than your parents.
Of course I don't actually know all these things about Obama because I do not know him personally but I have pulled a few things from the sight http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/3401168/Barack-Obama-The-50-facts-you-might-not-know.html So I hope you read at least a few of them because they are kind of interesting
